Bookings are now open for the much awaited for event, popular with appreciators of Italian enogatronomic delicacies. The 2014 Wine Oscars on May 29, 2014 celebrates its sixteenth edition at the Hotel Rome Cavalieri in Rome, Italy.

The event will last for an entire day, with back-to-back debates, tasting sessions, fine and rare wine auctions, reaching eventually a conclusion with both a sumptuous gala dinner and a ‘best products’ award ceremony.

The 2014 Wine Oscars is organised byBibenda, the official AIS (Italian Sommeliers Association) publication, who will reward the winners of each of the 18 different categories in which the event has been divided. In addition to the traditional ‘Best Red’ and ‘Best White’ contest, the winners of ‘Best wine for quality/price ratio’ and ‘best grappa producer’ will also strut their stuff on the red carpet.

In line with Hollywood’s traditions, this contest features different nominations and people can already cast their votes on the www.bibenda.it website. All activities are free, including the access to the luxury wine fair.  Only the dinner, prepared by chef  Gianfranco Vissani, needs to be booked in advance – it will cost € 200 for each person and it will include a different wine for each dish.
