Mandarin Oriental Hotel opens in Milan

The unique hotel fuses Italian design with timeless Oriental luxury. The Mandarin Oriental has opened in the heart of Milan, at 9 via Andegari, few steps from La Scala and via Montenapoleone. The hotel features 104 rooms and suites designed by Antonio Citterio, and an eclectic choice of restaurants presided by starred chefs Antonio Guida and Federico dell’Omarino.Four different kind of kitchens: the hotel’s fine dining restaurant, Seta, the more casual Mandarin Bar with a ‘bistro style’ menu, and a special kitchen dedicated to banquets, all at the ground floor of the hotel. In the lower ground floor, is located the kitchen for room service.

The restaurant’s floor has been designed by architect Antonio Citterio, who chose 15 different kinds of marble and wood, according to Mandarin’s philosophy of enhancing the value of the raw materials used in the host country. And to relax before dinner, nothing is better than the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Spa, featuring  two suites for personalized couple treatments, Thai massage and six relaxing treatments rooms. Every need becomes a wish to fulfill. Guests have at their disposal a world class hair salon, run by the famous hair stylist Massimo Serini, a manicure and pedicure studio, a fitness centre and an indoor swimming pool.

Architect Antonio Citterio has also decorated and furnish the 104 rooms: 73 rooms with an elegant color palette and 31 spacious suites, among which stands out the Presidential Suite, with a sophisticated environment reflecting Milanese style with a touch of the Orient. It is one of the most important opening in the luxury expo-oriented hotellerie in Milan. In fact, in occasion of Expo, Mandarin Oriental offers an exclusive Taste of Expo package which provides two nights luxurious accommodation together with fast pass tickets, return transfers to the event and a complimentary “Aperitivo Gourmet” at the Mandarin Bar.
