PITTI UOMO 86: THE FUTURE MAN
Up until next Friday, Pitti Uomo 86 will be the the main character of an extremely popular show in Fortezza da Basso, Florence, Italy, where the brand is going to define how the future trends for men are going to be like.
The man envisioned by Pitti Uomo 86 is definitely a businessman, if the €8,5 billions that revolved around the brand in 2013 are anything to go by, although the hopes of many names showcasing their latest creations at Pitti’s surprisingly still lay within the old markets rather than with the BRICS, currently quite disappointing.
To work out the secret of this 2014 edition’s success is not that difficult: in addition to the 75 women collections for Pitti W, there are also 1,090 brands that focus on men’s fashion, all divided in 12 different sections that include formal wear, informal wear, street style, sports wear and many more.
A new feature this year is the ping pong, aka Ping Pitti Pong, a liet motiv for insiders that involves challenges between bloggers and journalists. And if during the event there will be many surprises, the message for the 2015 man is clear: “be elegant, stay tuned and don’t take yourself too seriously”.
