A GUINNESS WORLD RECORD COCKTAIL

Its name is Winston, a tribute to Winston Churchill, and it’s one of the most expensive cocktails ever prepared as it will be served by an australian bantender at the hefty price of $12,916.

What makes this cocktail so pricey are two single drops of 1858 Croizet cognac, which is usually sold at $150k per bottle or $6,000 per shot.

Club 23 barman Joel Heffernan, the creator of this Guinness World Record cocktail, justifies the eye-watering price with the long preparation process required  – it takes two days to make – in addition of course to the use of the rare cognac.

The recipe also includes some Quintessence Grand Marnier, some Chartreuse Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolonge, a dash of angostura and a couple of chocolate flakes for presentation.

Rumour has it that the anonymous enthusiast that ordered the cocktail only drank a couple of sips before signing a cheque and leaving the bar.
