CHOPARD, A MONUMENTAL PURCHASE
Buying one of the world’s most prestigious hotel: here is one thing Chopard has to to tick off that bucket list as it has just become owner of the exclusive Hôtel de Vendôme in Paris, a globally-recognised symbol of luxury.
UHP (Union Hôtelière Parisienne) – the company that used to own the hotel located in the heart of the capital’s fashion, jewellery and couture district – has sold it to Chopard, who is now able not only to widen its boutique network, but moreover to actualise its long-term financial diversification strategy within the luxury sector.
The Swiss brand specialised in the production of luxury jewellery and watches can already count on six boutiques on French soil, including the flagship store that for the past ten years has been located at the Hôtel de Vendôme‘s ground floor. The exclusive five star hotel, built in 1783 by Pierre Perrin, in addition to the boutique, comprises of 29 rooms, including 10 suites and a restaurant on the first floor.
