Glas Italia, the Italian design that refurbishes luxury

Furniture, door-wall partitioning and accessories in crystal: Glas Italia not only produces all these but does so with the most advanced technology in the name of design. The result is a refinement expressed in the originality of the proposals and the upholding of “Made in Italy” designs. Superb décor also accentuate the prestige of luxury and historically attractive sites such as the Royal Villa of Monza, finally restored to its past splendour, or the famous museums of Fortuny and Ca’ Presaro buildings in Venice. The Royal Villa of Monza, an architectonic gem, will host, at the Belvedere – situated on the last floor of the residence that belonged to the  House of Hapsburg – the permanent museum of the Milan Triennial design, based on the creation of Architect Michele De Lucchi. As to architects, those of the CLS Studio set up the decor of Glas Italia in the Royal Villa’s Kitchens. The “MUSHROOM” high tables, BENT GLASS BENCHES and BENT GLASS STOOLs create a luminous atmosphere exploiting the elegant transparency of the crystal and magical reflections highlighted by the play of light. Kitchen and design combine in a perfect mix underlining the modern and contemporary taste of Glas Italia’s signature items. Glas Italia, founded in Brianza in the 1970s with main office at Macherio, collaborated with the installation of the “12” exhibition last summer, in the prized Venetian museums of Palazzo Fortuny and Ca’ Pesaro – International Gallery of Modern Art. Central to the exhibition is the design item to be observed, but from a different perspective, restoring it to its natural function. The exhibition shows décor items created by famous international Glas Italia designers: from Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec up to Piero Lissoni, and Michele De Lucchi to Nendo. For a year now, Glas Italia has had its own flagship store, in partnership with Gorlini, at via Santa Sofia in Milan. The objective is to offer customers, architects and designers a complete panorama of its own productions.  The installation is supervised by Piero Lissoni, the company’s Art Director, and includes collections of Glas Italia products, besides the Aladdin doors and partitioning walls, protagonists of the past editions of the Furniture Saloon. Here we can admire the novelties of 2014, like the essential Labyrinth tables or stylish Monica cupboards, all strictly in crystal.
