FINE WINE ON HOLIDAY

Fine wine aficionados with a summer residence at the Hamptons, Florida, from today will be able to share their most precious bottles in an unique and exclusive space.

The location’s name is Societè du Vin and it was created by Leslie Alexander, the owner of basketball team Houston Rockets and keen collector of fine wines from all around the world.

To overcome the problem of which bottles to carry on holiday, Alexander invested $5m in transforming an old Bridgehampton barn in a members-only club for connoisseurs.

After paying an initial $50,000 entry fee, members will be able to rent a private cellar where to leave those bottles they can’t do without on holiday and then share them on the Societè’s relaxing patio with other wine lovers.

Members will also be able to attend private tasting sessions and lavish dinners with some of the wine industry’s most important players, such as Romanée Conti. To make this environment even more unique, Hollywood set designer Elvis Restaino has been called to transpose some of that Tinseltown magic right into your glass.
