Rotonde de Cartier Grande Complication

Ladies and gentlemen, here is the most complex of all Cartier timepieces: the Rotonde de Cartier Grande Complication, presented to the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2015. It is an incredible feat of watchmaking: 578 components, 5 years of development, 15 weeks of production at the Manufacture, 10 weeks of decorating and finishing and 5 weeks of assembly. The result is measured in millimeters and brings together three of the most prestigious Fine Watchmaking complications.

A perfect alchemy between elegance and precision, the Rotonde de Cartier Grande Complication is a unique piece, combining three complications for a major challenge: the mechanisms of a minute repeater, a perpetual calendar and a flying tourbillion.  The challenge required unique expertise at the crossroads of several different crafts. The result is under the platinum case, granting a unique, precise, rich and pure chime.

The play of transparency enhances the timepiece charm, thanks to its precious openwork dial in 18-carat gold and its masterfully skeletonized movement. With a thickness of 5.49 mm, it boasts incredible fineness and elegance, making the technical prowess of its composition all the more exceptional. The Rotonde de Cartier Grande Complication watch is certified “Poinçon de Genève”, the highest seal of watchmaking quality of excellence.
