Gucci Spring/Summer 2016 men’s collection plays with remixing and détournament, recirculating de-contextualized fragments and objects found by chance and dragged away from their history. Each dress is realized through combination and juxtaposition of memories, projected in a new poetic horizon. Poetic because capable of reassemble the existing in a new meaningful set.

Forms, decors, details and handmades are combined in a renewed setup, producing continual shifting of sense. From this point of view, the recovery of fragments coming from a spatial and temporal elsewhere, is not a revival and neither is the exhibition of the past in itself. It means rather to give new life to what once was, to reinvent set aside opportunities. Memory is a powerful instrument, capable to give back to the past its possibility to be and a new raison d’etre.
