It is the world\u2019s thinnest tourbillon integrated in a 3,4 millimeter caliber, a Swiss Parmigiani Fleurier<\/strong> brand victory after two full years of research and product development. <\/span>This iconic Parmigiani Fleurier<\/strong> timepiece seems to trick gravity thanks to his flying tourbillon \u2013 the absence of an upper tourbillon bridge allowing for the shaving off of additional microns. <\/span>Beautifully designed with clean lines and slender case, the Tonda 1950 Tourbillon is the result of the quest for simplicity and elegance that characterises this collection. The aesthetic factor is enhanced by the charming homage to company founder Michel Parmigiani<\/em>, born in in Val-de-Travers – Switzerland- at 7:08, where the tourbillon is located. The complication is placed to the left of centre, just after the 7 o\u2019clock index, while the tourbillon orientation is determined by an angle corresponding to 07:08, and highlighted by a red applique around the edge of the seconds.
This watch comes in four different styles : mother of Pearl Grey, white or Black Jade and deep blue in Geneva wave decoration. The first version of the Tonda 1950 Tourbillon seems to most sober of the four, essentially iconic of the original Tonda 1950<\/em>, with white gold case and diamonds to discretely lighten the mother pearl and cabochon in ruby stone. The white and black jade dials display all the refinement of this precious stone.
The blue abyss with C\u00f4tes de Gen\u00e8ve dials is -possibly- the most prestigious of the four models.  <\/span>Every details testifies to this watch uniqueness. The titanium cage is the lightest in the world , the neat variable inertia balance as opposed to a more traditional screw balance, the seconds hand in blued steel as an integral part of the tourbillon cage, all rendering the idea and performance of the perfect balance, which stands the test of time.
