Recognized as icons of contemporary living-style, two lamps by the egregious architect are backing into production: E63 <\/strong>and Lem. <\/strong><\/span>Designed by Milanese architect Umberto Riva<\/strong>, the lamps will reappear -renewed in their vigor- in an exhibit curated by Antonia Jannone, from that can be visited until January 9th, 2016, at Jannone\u2019s art gallery<\/strong>. <\/span><\/span>An incredible behind the scene non to be missed. In fact the production process for both pieces is also in display with selected designs. It will entail visitors a very good idea of both initial and final stage of the work, while allowing a closer look to Umberto Riva<\/strong>, who is among the most admirable Italian architects of our time.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Given their design, the 3 functional blocks of the E63<\/strong>, with the lamp\u2019s connectors elements exposed in great details, contributes to the idea of sculptural form in daily life objects. <\/span>It has been produced by Francesconi in 1969, with the use of materials such as steel, copper and bronze.   <\/span><\/span>Her sister lamp, Lem<\/strong>, was originally rendered in semi-transparent resin by Francesconi and then re-edited by FontanArte in 1991 with a new name : Dilem. <\/span>With the new Jannone Gallery<\/strong> version, the orientable light diffuser is available in two different colors – teal and orange – plus two models: clamp or standard base. <\/span><\/span>To highlight the unicity of Umberto Riva<\/strong>\u2019s artwork, Jannone<\/strong>\u2019s project will include limited editions : 9 pieces for each lamp, chosen by typology and materials involved.<\/span> <\/span>Umberto Riva<\/span><\/strong>, class 1928, has studied as an architect in Venice. Pursuing his \u201ccraftsman-architect\u201c philosophy, Riva<\/strong> creates buildings, interiors and objects since 1960.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

His experimentation with different kind of materials starts with a design, thought in a context. To valorize the materials, Riva<\/strong> approach is to put one form next to the other one in order to highlight each element\u2019s inherent potential. In his detailed art-lamps for interiors, standardization finds no place, and with each of his household object, a piece of art is born.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
