The new <\/span>movie by <strong style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;\">Matteo Garrone<\/strong> (The Tale of Tales) is based on <em style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Lo Cunto de li Cunti <\/em>and brings back the Roman director to the Cannes Film Festival, seven years after Gomorra and three after Reality, both winning by the <\/span><em><span style=\"background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;\" lang=\"EN-US\">Special Jury<\/span><\/em><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; background: white; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;\" lang=\"EN-US\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; background: white; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;\" lang=\"EN-US\">Award and<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><em>Grand Prix<\/em><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span>prize<\/span><span style=\"mso-ansi-language: EN-US;\" lang=\"EN-US\">. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: medium; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The movie tells the stories of kings, queens, orcs and magical creatures. The trade d\u2019union is a family of circus artists travelling from village to village with their caravan, and visiting the three kingdoms\u2019 castles of the movie. Forget about heroes and romantic princes, the protagonists of the three stories are all women, in three different stages of life: a dreaming young girl, an overprotective and jealous mother, a na\u00efve old women. They all have to go through difficult challenges that will dramatically change them. Basile\u2019s fairy tales delighted several generations and the collection &#8211; also known as <em>Pantamerone \u2013 <\/em>is the most ancient of Europe, and includes famous tales like Cinderella, Puss in Boots, and the Sleeping Beauty.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: medium; font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.538em;\" lang=\"EN-US\">Matteo Garrone chose an International cast for his stories: <em>Salma Hayek is the Queen of Longtrelli, obsessed with the desire of having a baby, Vincent Cassel is the King of Strongcliff, whose passion for women will bring him troubles, Stacy Martin (star of Nymphomaniac by Lars Von Trier)is the King\u2019s obsession, and Tobt Jones, King of Highhills,<\/em> is more emotionally attached to a giant flea than to his daughter <em>Viola (Bebe Cave).<\/em> Sit back (the movie will be released May 14) and <\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.538em; background-color: #fffeef;\" lang=\"EN-US\">let<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.538em;\" lang=\"EN-US\">&nbsp;<span style=\"background: #FFFEEF;\">it<\/span>&nbsp;take you in a magical timeless world of kings and queens, princes and princesses.
