The <strong>Foundation of the Civic Museums in Venice<\/strong> is dedicating an extraordinary exhibition to <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Rousseau, known also as Le Douanier, realized with the scientific collaboration and exceptional loans from the The <strong><em><span style=\"font-family: Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; letter-spacing: .5pt; font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;\">Mus\u00e9e d&#8217;Orsay<\/span><\/em><\/strong><span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: .5pt;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"letter-spacing: .5pt;\">and the<strong><em><span style=\"font-family: Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;\"> Mus\u00e9e de l&#8217;Orangerie<\/span><\/em><\/strong>, <\/span>under the patronage&nbsp; of the Soprintendenza per i Beni Architettonici a Paesaggistici of Venice and Laguna.<span style=\"letter-spacing: .5pt;\"> T<\/span><span>he event, produced by 24 Ore Cultura &#8211; Gruppo 24 Ore, features over a hundred works from major international institutions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The fascinating Doge\u2019s Apartments of the Doge\u2019s Palace will be the setting of the event. Divided into eight thematic sections, the exhibition presents a number of the French painter\u2019s most renowned masterpieces for the first time ever in Italy, including \u201cMyself\u201d, which he regarded as the first \u201clandscape-portrait\u201d in the history of art, \u201cThe Poultry Yard\u201d, purchased by Kandinsky and shown at the first Blaue Reiter exhibition in Munich, and the \u201cWar or The Ride of Discord\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The exhibition also offers visitors an opportunity to relive the emotions of the famous banquet held by Picasso in the Douanier\u2019s honour in 1908 after buying his Portrait of a Woman.
