The new 6-cylinder V8 engine is regulated by the eight-speed Steptronic Sport Automatic transmission. For the first time, the 7 Series is also equipped with BMW eDrive powertrain technology, first developed by BMW i cars. Respect for the environment and less consumption. In the EU test cycle for hybrid models, the BMW 740e returns a combined fuel consumption of 2.1 liters per 100 kilometers, and a combined electric power consumption of 12.5 kWh.

Travel comfort is taken into a new dimension by the Rear Executive Lounge Seating Package, which redefines the meaning of long-distance comfort in a luxury car.The massage function is completed by the Vitality Program: in the rear, passengers can engage in active training to revitalize the body on longer journeys.
