HIS EXCELLENCE GIO PONTI AT MILAN MALPENSA
Malpensa’s Terminal 1 willwelcome passengers from all over the world with three works of Gio Ponti, famed architect and designer from Milan, an outstanding symbol of Italy’s post-war creative season. Supervised by Salvatore Licitra, the exhibition is entitled Mysterious Objects and presents three works of Gio Ponti, the installation “Expressions” from the Ideal Standard showroom of Milan (1966), “Los Angeles Cathedral” (1967), and ”Ceramic Tile Floor” from the offices of the Salzburger Nachrichten of Salzburg” (1976). A highly attractive exhibition area, the Malpensa Airport’s Gateway to Milan strengthens its own identity as a unique spot in the panorama of airports worldwide. Promoted by SEA – Milan Airport, the initiative is a team-up with the Gio Ponti Archives, and thus consolidates the project SEA had studied to launch the airport as a crossroad of emotions bound to the experience of travels, and the ideal place to exhibit artistic expressions in their infinite forms and enrich Milan’s cultural offer, also by regularly organising artistic enterprises.
