Food, the history of food in Milan

No more secrets for food thanks to the exhibition “Food, the science from the seeds to the plate”, on display in the Natural History Museum of Milan, from 8 November until 28 June 2015. Between culture and entertainment, for the first time an exhibition to explore the world of food from the scientific point of view but, with an artistic approach, unveiling the secrets of food from the origins until the finished dish.   The exhibition is the most important event of popular science sponsored by the city of Milan and the Chamber of Commerce about the key theme of Expo 2015 FOOD aims to develop a new consciousness in the observer: individual items arriving daily in our dishes are ‘dissected’ into the main elements, and then analyzed in detail. The exposition path winds through scenic microscope images, instructional videos and interactive games embarking the visitors on a multi-sensory discovery of food, from the very beginning – the seed – to our favorite dishes. From environmental prospective to psychological, the exhibition explores the fundamental elements for an healthy life and a balanced diet.
