Bottega Veneta goes outdoor
Spring/Summer 2016 collection by Bottega Veneta calls for open spaces, outdoor getaways, hiking, sailing and everything that can be done outside in deep contact with nature. Tomas Maier, creative director of the brand, designed a tailored collection whose main leads are freedom and creativity. Different materials and techniques are mixed together with a unique and eclectic techno-romantic style. Irregular shapes and parachute or sailing inspired dresses are looped with rope rivets and serious stitching, to be functional and stylish at the same time. The bags boast exotic skin or rope trim, precious leather details and classic shapes revisited from Bottega Veneta’s archive – again picking up on Tomas Maier’s great outdoors theme.
Fashion jewels are in silver sterling, with tourmaline and smoky quartz on a new “s” shaped worn look chain, like the original golden coating has faded with time. Thin metallic ropes are intertwined to create the cat-eye frames of the new matching line of sunglasses. The patent sailing slip-on have a thin sole inspired by car tires, canvas sandals and wedges are all tied with laces, as well as the hiking boots, each one with its unique intertwine that gives them a hand-fixed look.
